The wall of windows gives a stunning view over the water and keeps this lower level studio feeling bright and airy - and the covered portion of the deck allowed us to enjoy ourselves rain and shine!

I’ve rented quite a few vacation properties both through work, as well as personal and Jan has by far, THE BEST rental to date. Although I secretly wanted to tell no one about the Lazy B and keep this gem to myself, I can’t help tell everyone I know about my time spent at there. This is the most well stocked home, extremely thought out, cozy, warm and very inviting. It’s 100% a home away from home (Lazy B being the home you would want to be in most of the time). The view is unbelievable from both the decks (yes decks) as well as inside. Close to small beach, dock, swimming, and for those inside days there were plenty of movies as well as board games to utilize while enjoying the view in home! Although we took advantage of the BBQ provided a few nights, we ventured into town and ate at some great little spots, all recommended by Jan. There is a lot of thought, and detail put into this home and it was all very much appreciated. Thank you Jan for your hospitality and encouraging such a lazy week!

Bowen Island is beautiful and the Lazy B suite is perfect. You wake up to a view of the water and the sound of the water lapping on the rocks through the screen doors. We never ate out because you couldn’t beat our view. We loved it and will be coming back soon!

We had a wonderful, though short stay, that was a wonderful reset for all of us. We had a grand time traveling from one end of the beach to the other just using the logs that were laying about. The peace and beauty of the Island were amazing and the studio was well stocked and extremely comfortable.

My family stayed for 4 nights in this gorgeous apartment and we loved it! It’s beautifully decorated, well maintained and the view is magnificent! In the evenings we went to the little beach a few steps down the hill to collect sea glass or spent the evening on the patio with a glass of wine. All other beaches on Bowen Island who are accessible for the public are very beautiful too and worth to check them out. Some of them are connected with beautiful short hikes through the woods, which we really enjoyed. It’s been our last station on a 3-weeks-road-trip in Washington State and Canada. We’ve been to Vancouver once, which is easy to reach with the 20-Minute-Ferry-connection from Snug Cove. We highly recommend the “Barcelona” Tapas Wine Bar on Bowen Island... we went there twice because of the absolutely delicious food and nice atmosphere. We would definitely spend our vacation again at this amazing place and hope we will be back to Bowen sometimes on another road trip. It doesn't get much better than the Lazy B suites views - the entire length of the rental is water. We woke to seals calling in the morning. The suite is lovely, well-decorated, comfy and cozy. The kitchen and grill made it easy to cook. Lovely and a great price - highly recommend!

Following the instructions regarding the drive to the property I was glad I had a small SUV which was an AWD. I was also pleased that the person I met coming the other way on the access road knew what to do ! The property was well maintained and had views which were beautiful especially enjoyed on the balconies in the sun but also equally enjoyable on the wet rainy day too . We had the company of a bald eagle in the tree outside which was incredible. We visited the Lime and Moon pie shop in Bowen on the ferry landing site as well as the general store which ensured we had supplies for our relaxing and chill out time in the apartment for the weekend. There are a lot of instructions especially regarding water conservation and recycling so be prepared to follow these. The access road needs a confident driver and a suitable vehicle so heed advice that Jan gives in her video. The wi fi was excellent as was the tv . Definitely a weekend to remember

I was looking for a relaxing getaway, and I found it at the Lazy B. Cozy and inviting with amazing views. I didn’t have a car, but it was pretty simple to grab the shuttle when I wanted to go into Snug Cove. (Just be at the main road about 25-30 before the next ferry - and make sure you have a Compass pass, or a lot of change.)

The Bowen Island hideaway is an oasis of peace. You've unobstructed views on the water, a big patio with various seating options, a welcoming and lovely decorated apartment with a full kitchen and bathroom. We loved every minute here and wished we could've stayed longer. This place is perfect for anyone who is seeking a quiet place away from tourist attractions and entertainment.

The perfect place to stay for a relaxing get-away. Sit out on the lovely deck with your morning coffee listening to the sound of the ocean and look out at the incredible views, whilst watching the occasional seal swim by........bliss. We also enjoyed sitting out in the evening playing board games, which are supplied, along with numerous movies and a few books (great for the not so nice weather). The suite was fully equipped with everything you could need and more, very clean and well maintained. Jan has done an amazing job with the suite and her attention to detail is appreciated. A true home away from home. She is very quick at responding to e-mails with any questions you may have. Please pay attention to the very detailed description and video of the driveway down to the property, it is extremely accurate and not to be taken lightly! We have a Jeep and it still wasn't easy but don't let it put you off. Breakfast at The Snug café was delicious (eggs benny and snugwich both excellent), as was lunch at The Ruddy Potato. We also enjoyed good fish and chips at Doc Morgan's. Unfortunately the Pub was not open during our stay, as the new building is not finished yet. The barbecues we had out on the deck were the best meals though, the view is unbeatable (plus hubby cooked!) I would highly recommend this property and hope that you have as enjoyable a stay as we did. I am now looking forward to our next visit.

I really enjoyed my stay in the Lazy B Waterfront suite! First of all, the views from our deck were gorgeous. It was a bit cool during our visit so we spent more time indoors taking in the view through the big picture windows. The suite was clean and nicely decorated, and we felt very much at home. The kitchen was well-appointed, with roomy countertops and lots of dishes, cutlery, pots, and pans. There were also a few essentials like salt, pepper, olive oil, tea, and a little coffee. The bed was very soft, and the bedroom also has huge windows facing the ocean.

Here we are months later, and we still long for the tranquility that we found so abundantly at the Lazy B Hideaway. To wake up with the sea at your feet, it was like time stood still. We had a wonderful time and will always remember our stay. As I'm sure it's been mentioned, the warnings about the driveway are legitimate and you should heed them. We had a mid size 4 wheel drive and at times had difficulty navigating the very steep and winding road to the Hideaway. Island/coast life has it's benefits and sometimes, drawbacks. But obviously it can be done, so as long as you're prepared you'll be fine. This is the only reason for the 4 star review. Everything else was wonderful and exceeded our expectations. We are so glad that you mentioned our driveway as this is an important feature that we make sure our guests are fully aware of the All Wheel Drive or 4 Wheel drive requirement. We now provide a video tutorial on how to best navigate the driveway along with written instructions which have been a welcome tool used by our guests. The first trip down can be thrilling and after that easy peasy. Of course, for our guests that are either driving a 2WD or don't feel confident driving down our driveway... AND would welcome an exercise opportunity, it is always an option to park at the top of the driveway and make the 5-minute walk down to our waterfront home. Breathing in the fresh sea air while walking down the used-to-be deer trail and now our access road is all part of the Bowen Island experience. For our guests that drive 2WD vehicles and want assistance at check-in and check-out ask about our Cleator Road Shuttle service.

Jan's place is exactly as pictured. It is very clean, comfortable, has everything you would need, and the view is amazing! It was quite a hike to get back to the main road or to the house, but it's worth it.

Amadea, that 8 minute hike up to the main road is part of the unique character for the Lazy B Waterfront Suite, isn't it? A great exercise opportunity. In the old days (1955 - 1970) it was a deer trail and we did not have the option to park on the property with an All or 4 wheel drive vehicle. Today guests can drive down the access road and park on property with the proper vehicle. Once in the Suite the view and all the comforts of a great vacation are there.

The Bowen Hideaway is excellent. Great breathtaking view, beach steps away, all the imenities for a relaxing stay. Pack light for the hike down the hill to the suite or bring a 4wheel drive vehicle. Good visit had by all three of us on our women's getaway. Would come back for sure. Ly

We arrived tired and weary and left rested and refreshed! Beautiful suite, scenery and sounds of waves greeted us each day. Warnings about the road are accurate, extremely steep and difficult to navigate. As mentioned by the owner, a smaller 4 wheel drive is preferred. Our Highlander was a bit big but we conquered! Absolutely stunning!

This property was wonderful for my friend and I to get away for a few days, the accommodations left us wanting for nothing. Jan was very helpful in making our stay perfect. The suite was well stocked with items to prepare our own meals. The bathroom was remodeled and modern. The kitchen was also modern - the whole place was gorgeous. We BBQ'd every day and enjoyed the stunning view and deck. We pretty well spent most of our time on the deck watching the ferries go by, enjoying wine and preparing BBQ and chilling. We also enjoyed the private beach and even jumped off the dock to swim. We enjoyed kayak rentals and boated to the suite and back from Snug Cove. We had such a good stay, loved the view and suite, we will be back.

The Lazy B Waterfront Suite is perfect for a weekend getaway. One of my girlfriends and I were in need of a weekend away from Vancouver for some R&R. Armed with wine, ingredients for some great meals, and books, we headed off for the short easy trip to Bowen Island. This suite is lovely and so well located overlooking, and steps from, a fabulous beach. The view of the mainland from the two spacious patios is stunning, just watching the ferry's come and go was relaxing. The suite has everything you need - in fact once we got there we never left! For cooks, the kitchen is super well equipped as is the bathroom with thoughtful amenities. I am hoping to book the whole house in the near future for a family golf weekend (Bowen has a fantastic golf course). I highly recommend this fabulous rental.

Be sure to reserve the Whole House well in advance to have the Whole House available. That is the perfect recipe for memorable times with family and friends.

The Lazy Bowen is an amazingly cozy and self contained suite just 6 mins drive from Snug cove. Located just above a rocky beach, the suites standout feature is its wide spacious deck complete with outdoor seating and BBQ that overlooks the water. Perfect for a lazy day reading by the wood stove watching the ferries cross back and forth. Everything is provided from basic kitchen staples to logs for the stove. We had a great time just kicking back and enjoying the surroundings.

I came to here for a weekend away with two dear friends and it was absolutely perfect. The covered deck was our hangout spot of choice - the rain fell but we stayed dry and cozy yet still got to enjoy the gorgeous ocean views and warm breeze from the outside deck. The beds were comfortable, kitchen was stocked well, and we had a lovely, lovely time. I will look forward to coming back again!

As others have noted, the views are absolutely breathtaking! Once you sit on this deck, the minutes (and stresses from day-to-day life) seems to slip away! Since there is an undercover deck as well, the space can be enjoyed regardless of the weather. The suite itself is super cute and very clean. We only had two nights and wished we could stay longer. We went on short walks/hikes, beach combed, checked out the Artisan Square and lounged. We ate in, the kitchen is well equipped and organized. Jan (owner/manager) is extremely responsive and provides lots of information to help with your stay. Next time we plan to stay in the upper suite and/or rent the entire house with friends/family.

My husband and I enjoyed 7 blissful nights & days at this wonderful accommodation thanks to Jan, the owner. Her attention to detail and designer touches enhance the overall experience of being perched high above Howe Sound. The views are absolutely spell binding from both inside and outside this little hideaway. Don't miss the weekend brunch at Artisan Eats in Artisan Square and enjoy patio dining at Tuscany Pizza, Rustique Bistro and Doc Morgan's all close by in Snug Cove. Both the General Store and the Ruddy Potato market also offer a good variety of foods if you choose to eat in. Easy ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay or Nanaimo. If you are looking for a perfect couples retreat this one will not disappoint.

We enjoyed a perfect vacation weekend on Bowen Island thanks to Jan and her beautiful property. We rented this unit and the adjacent one, both of which are very cozy and well maintained. The best part for us was all of the deck space; It provided plenty of room to relax and enjoy the spectacular view. It's even better than what you can see in the pictures. There's also a public dock next door for water access, or just to enjoy another great view point. Jan was an excellent host, providing detailed information and quick responses to any questions. If I end up back on Bowen, I'd definitely stay here again.

In addition to both waterfront vacation rentals are self contained and completely separate spaces inside and out.

We had a great time staying at the property. From ease of booking, quick and friendly communication from Jan, the amazing views. The unit was well stocked with all the comforts of home. I would highly recommend this to anyone. Hoping to return again.

Beautiful property! We were so cozy and listening to a crackling fire and lapping of the waves, was sublime. Tonic for the soul. The apt was extremely clean, well equipped, perfect. The kitchen is stocked with all utensils you would ever need and the library of books, DVD's and Videos is a really nice touch. The Bathroom is a good size and the shower was great! I would assume that the deck(s) would be amazing in the warmer months, but it did not stop us sitting out in early January. The Beach is just 3 mins away and is lovely. The road to the cabin, off the main road is steep. If you are arriving after dark, a flashlight is recommended. Walking up, certainly gives you a work out, especially with luggage. If you have a heavy case/bag, be warned. We both loved this place and will look forward to staying for a longer time than we initially did. Thanks Jan. Lovely place

The sun deck with BBQ and table just above the beach is great on a sunny spring day or for sunning in the summer. But the NEW COVERED DECK is really good all year long as it protects you from the hot sun in the summer or gives you a sheltered outdoor space to enjoy the rain and waves from below. We really enjoyed our stay at the Lazy B Petite Suite - even on a stormy and cold November weekend. The view was superb and the space had everything we needed to enjoy a romantic weekend out of the city. We especially liked how private the location was and the easy access down to the beach. We spent three nights at the Lazy B Petite Suite and just loved it. The suite was very comfortable, very clean, and stocked with all the kitchen/BBQ basics we needed. We loved the covered deck, and spent most of our time there - admiring the view, reading, and playing cards. The setting is private and relaxing, and the view is spectacular. We also enjoyed the quick walk down the hill to the public dock for a swim. The walk down to the suite from the main road where we parked (2 wheel drive vehicle) was steep and windy, but only took five minutes. Next time we stay, we'll bring a 4 wheel drive, so we can drive right to the door of the suite. We have highly recommended it to our family and friends, and look forward to coming back next summer. My fiancé and I spent a few days at the Lazy B on our vacation this year. It was fantastic! A great break from the city. The place was comfortable, immaculate, and had spectacular views. We loved the selection of 90s DVDs, and a well appointed kitchen made for comfy evenings in. For those with 2wheel drive, don't despair! The cabin only is a short jaunt down the hill. Even fully loaded with groceries and bags it wasn't a problem for our able bodies. Don't miss the great 5k run around Killarny Lake, and Tuscany restaurant. Can't wait to come back in the winter and enjoy that wood stove! Thanks Jan!

Renew, Relax, Restore.........that is what Bowen is all about ........including a well deserved "chillaxing!!" So glad you loved our waterfront views........it is really a gorgeous southerly view of the ferry lanes, Coastal Mountains and Vancouver. We have recently changed the name as Petite doesn't seem to fit any longer. With the new decks and expansive view windows guests can enjoy a total of 1000 square feet of indoor and outdoor living space. Nothing "petite" about that, right? Please come back again.

The Lazy B Petite Suite was more then we expected. We opened the door and we're immediately taken by the breathtaking views. The accommodations were top notch, everything you have at home and more. We were looking for a little weekend getaway from the busy city and that is exactly what we got! Bowen Island is a great place to unwind and enjoy the beauty that is the Island. I would highly recommend staying with Jan and the Lazy Bowen Petite Suite. There's is no doubt we will be back to enjoy the beautiful deck and the breathtaking views.

I would 100% recommend this vacation rental to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with stunning views! We arrived after dark and were blown away by the sunrise and view in the morning! We highly recommend this unit. My wife and I stayed in the upper unit. 4 friends stayed in the lower unit. It was very nice and comfortable, better than described, a bargain for such a good location and everything worked good. Perched on solid rock on the water. We brought our kayaks and also snorkeled and hiked. Great restaurants in town. Jan was nice and very helpfull answering our questions. We even found it exciting navigating the 4WD road.

My stay at the Lazy B Petite Suite was lovely. The ocean was my front yard, and the waves were my traffic! It was a quiet, perfectly stocked studio, and I wanted for nothing. The beach is a very short distance from the studio, and I went there every day. I would definitely go back!

My boyfriend and I stayed at the suite over the weekend for his birthday. It was clean and modern with a beautiful view! We loved the decor and the fireplace made it feel extra warm and cozy. The bed was super comfortable which was a bonus. There is anything you could need found in the kitchen which was great as we were cooking all meals. Would surely return for another stay here. We stayed for couple of days at the Lazy B Petite Suite back in July. Had wonderful time! The weather was great, the location perfect – 2 minutes away from the beach. The suite itself is very tasty decorated, the view is amazing… We spend lots of time on the beach, but also enjoyed quite evenings on the balcony sipping glass of wine and listening to the waives. After an all day adventure in getting to Bowen Island from Texas we were totally gob-smacked as we entered the Petite Suite and witnessed the gorgeous setting from our back door. As other reviewers have stated pictures don't justify the setting; truly exquisite. We are so very lucky to have found such an oasis away from the TX heat and Jan made it all happen. She has created a fabulous apartment for all of us to share in a beautiful and quiet setting; the color scheme inside compliments the natural colors outside. We ventured over every square inch of the island during our 4 night stay yet we spent most of our time at the Petite Suite, preferring the comforts of home. Per Jan's suggestion we stopped at Trader Joe's on our way thru Bellingham, WA for our provisions due to Snug Cove being a little pricey; yet, it has a couple of grocery stores with good selections. The islands Memorial garden and Killarney Lake are outstanding; we must and will return! Thank you again Jan for creating the Petite Suite and sharing your special place.

Hi Jan, We had a great Father's Day weekend (rain & shine)! Lazy B Petite Suite provided us with lovely suite that was well equipped & modern. The best part of course was the view & sounds of the ocean. We had coffee down at the Snug a few mornings followed by a few casual walks with the dogs through those beautiful forest trails. We also took our dogs & 16 month old daughter down to the ocean for some swim & play time, which everyone enjoyed! Thanks for sharing your home with us as it was a much needed family vacation. Spent the weekend with my girlfriend in the petite Suite at the Lazy B. A very good time. We had meant to sign the guestbook but forgot. I had imagined a pithy line such as “We saw the name and we obeyed: A lazy weekend.” It was a very good one, quiet, in the suite, the balcony, and a few casual walks down to the rocky cove. On Sunday we did get some vigour percolating, with a kayak from Snug Harbour past the cove and over to the next one, Cates, and returned. It’s a good thing we rested up!

I had a great time at the Lazy B Studio. It is small, but perfectly arranged and so comfortable. The view is beautiful... it really is a great place to be lazy. I usually don't sleep well in hotels or rentals, but I got three nights of great sleep on the comfortable bed. You've done a great job decorating and filling the studio to make it comfortable and very livable. The bed, TV and cable, movies, music, woodstove, wireless... all perfect additions. The road down to the suite is a little crazy, especially at night with a suitcase and groceries. I was the typical city idiot, rolling my suitcase down a steep gravel hill in the dark, lit only by my iphone flashlight app. :) But I made it just fine in the end. Thank you for a pleasant weekend!

Hi Nicole, We are so glad that you had a beautiful stay at the Lazy B Petite Suite. Comfort was a priority when we selected the bed and other furnishings......it is great to know that you appreciated our choices too. Love the flash light app on your phone, how useful is that? What a great idea!! We have many guests that park at the top of our driveway and carry or roll their luggage down the gravel road. Your comment got me thinking about a solution.....what about if we make our hand truck available with some cables so the luggage can be easily rolled down the road? That might be a good option.

The Lazy B is hands down the best place to stay on island if you're looking for a cozy, quiet, and relaxed atmosphere. It looks right out over the sea and the beach is just a few steps down the road. The place was immaculate and well maintained. We were provided with lots of information about Bowen Island before we came and on arrival. Bowen Island is great rain or shine at the Lazy B.

Great getaway. A slight mistake we made was taking our bikes on the water taxi from Granville island. It was a great idea at the time but were quickly reminded the Bowen is very hilly and not bike friendly making at a good workout to get to the property and we are in pretty good shape. So if you're an occasional rider keep the bikes at home. It is justnas economical to take the carnon the ferry from Horseshoe bay. Also, dont be deterred by the driveway from the main road down to the property. You will have to walk if you don't have the right kind of vehicle but it is very doable.

Thank you, Jo-Ann for sharing about the hills on Bowen Island. We are often asked about the biking and walking conditions on Bowen. Even though we are only 3k from the Snug Cove ferry landing (an 8 minute car ride), the bike route is especially hilly and terrific for very fit cyclists. If others decide to ride their bikes and find it too challenging the bus can always pick you and your bike up anywhere along the route……..just flag down the driver. The ride is only $2.50…..be sure to have the exact change. We often walk into the cove and then conveniently catch the Eagle Cliff bus back to our driveway, Cleator Road. It’s a good exercise opportunity with a compromise. A kind note about our C11 Eagle Cliff bus driver……One winter evening we had guests arrive via the water taxi and then the C11 Eagle Cliff bus. It was dark and the bus driver asked our guests if they had a flash light. They didn’t. So, the bus driver loaned perfect strangers his flash light so they could safely walk down Cleator Road to the Suite. At check out our guests caught the bus and returned the flash light to the driver...So VERY Bowen Island friendly. Speaking of our driveway, Cleator Road....because it is steep in spots and is made of loose gravel it does require an AWD or 4 Wheel drive vehicle to drive down the driveway and to park on the property. If you drive a 2WD vehicle don’t be discouraged. We have free parking along Eagle Cliff Road at the top of Cleator Road and you can walk down to the Petite Suite….it takes about 4 minutes. If you do decide to walk down the road be sure to wear shoes with tread on the bottom so you don’t slip on the gravel. OR, you can hire our Cleator Road Shuttle. Our shuttle driver will meet you upon your arrival at the top of the road and assist you with your luggage and groceries down to the house. Then, you can schedule your departure time and our driver will drive you back up the road at check out. We can guarantee that once you arrive it is truly a special place to stay. Like Joanne said, you will find the Lazy B Petite Suite “Cozy and Right on the Water.”

My second stay with Jan was just as great as the first. The view is stunning, the location is perfect, the space is comfortable, and the kitchen is well equipped. The wood burning fireplace is perfect for chilly evenings, and my pup had a blast running up and down the beach. I'll certainly be back again.

Lazy B is a very special place on Bowen Island. Well appointed and decorated the views are stunning. Two minute walk to the beach. Five minute drive to town and restaurants activities. We went Kayaking and rented electric bikes - so much fun. Jan is an excellent communicator and you are well prepared for what to expect when you check in. We had a small emergency and Jan got back to us immediately. Highly recommend.

Such a beautiful setting, so close to the water, and with two great decks (plus a lower lounge patio!) to enjoy it. Having a quiet little beach nearby was also lovely. The drive down the road is definitely 4x4 only, especially on the corners, so pay attention to all of the advice!

What an ideal location to just getaway! Peaceful and quiet with beautiful views of the ocean, West Van, and UBC. The extremely short walk to the dock and public beach are ideal for getting those rays and enjoying a dip. We took a 2wd and the walk up and down the driveway wasn’t bad at all! However it is quite steep if you are older or infirm. Enjoy a positively relaxing time with great views!

Cozy place with a romantic, fire-burning stove and a swell view. It was sunny for us but I suspect all weather is well-experienced here. Exactly what we were looking for in a not-so-away-getaway from Vancouver. Do pay heed to the 4x4 rules about the road in.. They're not kidding!

This was our second stay at Jan’s place and we had a wonderful time! Rain or shine, it’s the perfect little getaway. Stunning views from every angle. Even in the cold, we loved sitting outside on the patio in the afternoons with a blanket. The private beach just steps away is such a bonus! Our pup had a great time running around. We can’t wait to come back!

Amazing view, and relaxing location. The woodfire stove made the place nice a cozy, and we spent two very relaxing days tucked away in the cabin and having strolls on the beach. We loved it and the dog did too!

We had a lovely Christmas at the Lazy B Waterfront suite. It rained all four days of our little getaway, but this is a magnificent place to watch storms and weather roll through. All the subtleties of the clouds, the water, the sky are on full display through the floor to ceiling windows. Our only regret is that it was too cold to sit on the deck with a glass of vino; we will have to return in summer for that. The kitchen has everything you need and then some. The unit was clean, and with the exception of a few times we heard footsteps from the folks in the unit above, very very quiet. It was great to have fires and the little wood stove put out a surprising amount of heat! Loved staying here, just steps from the rocky beach, and we will be returning soon!

Jan's place was exactly what we hoped for when booking our second visit to Bowen Island. The view out onto the water is amazing, complemented by a dock that's great for swimming and just taking in the surroundings. The accommodation itself was clean and tidy, and we had all the amenities and essentials that we needed for our stay. We spent most evenings barbecuing out on the deck.

The location, the view, the balcony, the fully stocked kitchen! Everything was perfect and made for a wonderful, relaxing getaway for the family (4 of us). We were a bit hesitant about the walk from the top of the road to the house (we have a 2W-drive car), but it really wasn't an issue for us at all. The walk is 3ish minutes, you might have to catch your breath for a moment when you get to the top, but it didn't stop us from coming and going and exploring the island during our stay. Oh and the beach and swimming dock just below the property were almost always empty, it felt like our private beach! Thank you, Jan, for everything! Highly recommend :)

Sound of the waves in the morning, glorious moon, incredible location for enjoying the ocean air and expansive 180 view. Check out the instructions for driving the road---have a four wheel drive and you will be fine!

Stayed a weekend at the Lazy B Suite in late June. Beautiful space with an incredible view and a spacious patio to have meals/relax on. Probably one of the nicest views from bed we have ever had. Kitchen was amazingly stocked with everything you might need. The walk down from the road where you park 2WD cars was very manageable, a little bit more painful with all your luggage. Great peaceful getaway!

I travel often, and this is truly one of the best Airbnb's I have ever stayed in. We barely left the property, with its stunning views, deck, and lounge chairs. It was the perfect spot to relax and unwind. You could hear and see the water even from the bed or sofa pull-out! Thoughtful touches included books, board games, and binoculars. Note: Don't underestimate the steep hill to get down to the property, or back up! (Jan warns you many times.)

What a dreamy hideaway! For the price and location, you really can't beat this place. It was an easy trek from Vancouver, a quick ferry, and Bowen Island is lovely. While this is technically the "garden unit" of the home above, you get great light, great views, and all the amenities. Great location, I'd totally come here again. It's a perfect retreat.

Jan's place is beautifully situated between gorgeous trees just steps away from a very secluded rocky beach. We enjoyed sipping coffee (and later cocktails) on the patio while watching the eagles and sailboats cruise past. Can't wait to visit again!

Exactly as described, Jan's attention to detail is extraordinary it really is beyond expectations. Lovely home and location on the island. The place is exactly as you see in the photos. Everything was great. The only downside is that we had expected the dock to be available. I guess it is still early in May and we should've checked with Jan. Other than that, my partner and I had a great time on the island. Thanks Jan!

Cool mornings with coffee on the deck were chill. Cooking dinner and eating a meal in the kitchen with unbelievable views was the bomb. Clean, quiet, easy to follow instructions for check in, check out. Be sure to heed the AWD or 4WD requirement for the access road.

The place was great! It was even closer to the ocean than the pictures lead you to believe. I'd love to go back in the summer and enjoy the outdoor decks more. Jan's instructions are very thorough and helpful so you know exactly what to expect. The island offers a lot of opportunity to explore outdoors.

We had a lovely and relaxing stay at Jan's Lazy B Waterfront Retreat. The scenic view was stunning (we loved watching the ferries going by day and night), the well-equipped kitchen was great for cooking, and the two decks were particular highlights. We enjoying lounging in the shade of the covered one during the day, and dining outside in the evening on the open one. And the beach was a two-minute stroll away. We wouldn't hesitate to return.

Our Honda handled the steep road just fine. Beautiful spot and well equipped.

This is an amazing property and I cannot recommend it highly enough. It has a well stocked kitchen and everything in the unit is in excellent condition. The deck overlooking the water has lots of comfortable seating and an amazing view. My wife and I will definitely be coming back.

My fiancée and I had such a lovely time! The unit is so cute and has a spectacular view! Even though it rained the entire time, it was so relaxing just to sit and look out the window at the water. Jan, the host, was very helpful at communicating some of the fine details required when renting this unit, and she is very responsive!

The first thing that struck me was how the photos were as accurate as you could hope for them to be. You always wonder if a fish eye lens is being used to make the room look bigger, if the camera is just framing out something unappealing, etc... I literally dropped my jaw and said 'Wow'. To myself. Alone. Even though I happened to be there during the hurricane week, it was cozy and warm and inviting. So lucky to have been able to book it during a very stressful work week.

Beautiful and quiet location. Perfect for getting away from the hustle and bustle of city living. Note: it is probably worth bringing a 4 wheel drive vehicle for getting up and down the driveway.

Absolutely didn't want to leave this place! The pictures are accurate, but nothing can prepare you for how awesome it is in person. Jan was also the most prepared host I've ever encountered when it came to her communication and providing you with a multiple page document of everything you could possibly ever want to know about the house, the island, and how to get there. I'd love to make staying at the Lazy Bowen Hideaway a yearly tradition! Just go, get away, and enjoy the island life.

Jans house was a true home. I'd love to be there in the change of seasons to use the fireplace to make it perfect!

Accurate listing on a beautiful property. Used the bus to get up to the place which was a great option. My dog, myself and my boyfriend had a nice relaxing stay.

Upon arrival we were happy to see the view was beautiful and we were right next to the beach. Loved the 4 sliding glass doors across the front of the suite that gave us unobstructed view no matter where you were in the suite. The wood stove was very nice also, there is something about a fire that really sets the mood.

Great stay at a lovely bottom floor unit. The view is stunning and the apartment is beautifully appointed. Wonderful island with some lovely walks. Saw otters and seals directly from the massive deck. Very relaxing location. Jan has a wonderful home, but is very protective of it. Everything has a sign on it for what you can and can't do. It felt a little like being a teenager again.

Jan was very easy to work with and her place is literally on the water, stunning. The power went out for a little bit but Jan has everything you need; candles, firewood, BBQ and more to get you through it. Jan has mapped out the place, so it was easy to fine and made sure we had the correct vehicle to get down the narrow path. Fantastic place and we will be going back for sure!

The perfect getaway!! Jan was very communicative and helpful from the moment we booked our stay, until the time we left. She provided detailed directions to the suite and once we arrived, the suite was immaculate. The property was literally a 6 minute drive from the ferry but once there it felt like we were miles away from everything. We could hear the waves crashing on the shore as it was steps from the scenic beach. The fireplace kept us nice and cozy and it was great that it was dog friendly so that our little dog could join. We'll definitely be returning!

My husband and I spent a wonderful week at Jan's Bowen Island apartment. The suite was perfect- clean, spacious- with gorgeous views of the water, island and mountains. It was easy to get to from the ferry- and just a short drive to the centre of town. We had a wonderful time going on hikes, dining out at the Tuscany restaurant (you have to try their pollo & pesto pizza!), going for a swim and reading peacefully on the huge deck. We had the most incredible time, and we definitely want to come back. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a relaxing and quiet retreat!

We just got back from an amazing stay at Jan's amazing place. We came from Ontario for our second wedding anniversary and our only complaint is that we didn't make our stay longer - next time we will definitely make it at least a week! Within 5 minutes of getting there we were already completely relaxed. The views from the suite are breathtaking, and the sound of the waves so relaxing - we sat for hours just watching the water and watching boats go by, as well as listening to the peacefulness of the waves. The location of Jan's place is perfect - it really doesn't get any better. We vacation quite a bit, and this is by far our most favourite place we have ever been to. Jan is the perfect host - she has really thought of everything. She has decorated the suite beautifully, and the views of the mountains and ocean can be seen from everywhere in it - it was so nice waking up to that view from bed! The kitchen and bathroom are even stocked with things one might need - hair dryer, make-up wipes, basic condiments and coffee / tea. The community of Bowen Island itself is an amazing one - people are so genuine, good hearted, and welcoming. We saw deer all the time on the island which was pretty neat! We will definitely be back here (longer this time!) - thank u so much for everything Jan!

First off: the view was absolutely amazing! Loved watching the ferries go by. The interior design, architecture, and art of the petite suite was stunning, relaxing, clean, open, and welcoming all at once. Jan's done an amazing job with it. Bowen island is a very sleepy little place (one of the neighbors joked that they want to change the website to bowenisland.calm), but that was A-OK with us. Jan left no details unturned, with guides for just about anything you could have a question about--she's a very organized host! We went for the walk around the lake, which was gorgeous, and went down the little hill to the beach very close by, but the best part of the stay was by far just hanging out at the Suite and enjoying the view.

We had a great stay here, the suite is beautifully furnished and clean. We loved relaxing here on the balcony and enjoying the view. Jan was great with recommending things to do and places to eat. Would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing stay on the island!

Loved this place! It was the perfect spot for a girls getaway weekend. It's literally right on the beach and it's super quiet and very cute and colourful inside. Jan was great and easy to deal with as well. I will definitely stay here again when I get the chance to return to Bowen.

What a fantastic getaway only an hour from Vancouver! Easy to find (although it's best if you have a 4WD vehicle), close to town and only steps from the beach. The view is fantastic with a balcony that practically hangs over the water. The suite was beautifully furnished, well-stocked and so cozy (especially with the fireplace going). Jan was very prompt in responding to all my messages and emails. We will definitely be back, hopefully soon!

We had a wonderful time a the Lazy B! It was a quaint remote cottage, perfect for a weekend getaway for 2. Jan was very helpful in every way possible when trying to get us to the cottage safely. Great views, cozy fireplace, lots of windows, tv, etc. Would love to go back some time
