The LAZY B WATERFRONT SUITE is a Professionally Designed, Contemporary Studio Suite. ENTER the SPACIOUS open floor plan to see the EXPANSIVE WATERFRONT VIEWS, Well Appointed, BRIGHT, and sunshine filled Suite.

The Studio is A TOTAL OF 1000 SQUARE FEET OF INDOOR AND OUTDOOR LIVING SPACE: 600 square feet inside plus 400 square feet of exterior seaside decks.

SELF CONTAINED & PRIVATE
The Lazy B Waterfront Suite is the ground floor suite positioned quietly below our other vacation rental, the Lazy Bowen Hideaway. The Lazy B Waterfront Suite is completely self-contained, separate, and private from the Lazy Bowen Hideaway. This property is a cottage/duplex with extensive improvements providing separation, soundproofing, and privacy. See more details below.

SLEEPS UP TO 2 GUESTS
The Suite sleeps up to 2 guests. Offering a PLUSH QUEEN bed from Tuft & Needle, upgraded Full-size sleeper sofa, and a TWIN bed. The sleeping area is partially separated from the living room and kitchen by the cinder block foundation walls. The Queen and Twin mattresses are both located in the sleeping area. The Full-size sleeper sofa is in the living room.

OCCUPANCY IS MONITORED using exterior surveillance cameras.

PET-FRIENDLY
We are dog-friendly upon approval. Please let us know your dog's age, bread, and weight. Only $15 per dog /per night with a Maximum 2 dogs per stay.

The Lazy B Waterfront Suite is remotely poised on a cliff just above the Beach. Access to the Swimming Beach and the neighbourhood Swimming Dock is 1 minute down an easy to walk trail. Both are ideal for Swimming, Fishing, Kayaking or beach combing. The Eagle Cliff Community Dock is available approximately May through September.

Parking on the property requires driving a short distance on Cleator Road:
~ it is steep in spots.
~ it is made of loose gravel.
~ it has 3 tight turns.
~ confident steep gravel road drivers required.
An all-wheel or 4-wheel drive vehicle the size of a Ford Explorer or smaller is required to drive Cleator Road. Or, you may choose to park your 2 wheel drive vehicle at the top of the road and take the 5-minute walk down to the cottage. Parking is free.

2WD VEHICLES ARE REQUIRED TO PARK AT THE TOP OF OUR DRIVEWAY ~ NO EXCEPTIONS

CLEATOR ROAD SHUTTLE: $50
For our 2-wheel drive guests AND guests that prefer not to drive down our steep gravel driveway..........…We suggest you hire our Shuttle Driver to help you with your luggage and groceries. With synchronization of your arrival and departure times, our Driver can meet you upon arrival at THE TOP OF OUR DRIVEWAY, Cleator Road, and at check-out at the Lazy Bowen Hideaway to assist you with luggage and groceries down and then up Cleator Road. Please let us know if we can coordinate this service for you and your family. (This service is dependent on our driver’s availability and may not be available for all requests.) The $50 fee is round trip.

ARRIVE BY BUS - LEAVE YOUR CAR AT HOME
After you exit the ferry follow the signs to the bus stop, catch the C281 bus to Eagle Cliff, and the driver will drop you at the top of our driveway, Cleator Road. Be sure to tell the driver your destination. The cost is around $2.50 and the ride is only 15 minutes.

Bring your own kayak and safely store it on our property for a convenient launch in and out of Eagle Cliff Beach below. Or Rent kayaks from Bowen Island Sea Kayaking located in Snug Cove.

SEPARATION AND PRIVACY UPGRADES
The Lazy Bowen Hideaway and the Lazy B Waterfront Suite have had extensive sound abatement upgrades between the rentals. The Lazy B Suite ceiling has been refurbished with 2 layers of ROXUL Safe n Sound, Z - Channels with Quiet Rock attached (equal to 8 layers of sheetrock) plus soundproof caulking around the perimeter of the Suite. SUCCESS…..Voices and normal TV noises have been removed, a 300% improvement. The footfall from the Hideaway above is muffled and greatly improved but cannot be eliminated 100%.

HEALTHY AIR CIRCULATION
We have installed a Heat Recovery Ventilation System which continuously circulates warmed fresh outside air throughout the property. In addition, the storage and basement areas have been lined with Clean Space Liner sealing out all moisture created by the rock sub-floors……….no musty cabin smells…….all FRESH HEALTHY AIR INSIDE AND OUT.

Jan Stevens was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. She studied art and Interior Design at the University of Washington. In 1982 she moved to Henderson, Nevada where she designed one-of-a-kind interiors for hundreds of clients. Over 13 years ago, when her son was an infant, she established Jan Stevens Design and began her successful design business while working out of her house and being “Mom” at the same time. Jan has designed stylish, comfortable and gorgeous interiors for over 30 years. Jan’s creativity and organizational skills has lead her to other entrepreneurial endeavors such as fundraising, graphic design, writing, and photography, as well as managing the Lazy Bowen Hideaway as a vacation rental. Over the last 10 years, following her passion for Bowen’s natural beauty, Jan began photographing the island sunsets, landscapes, and flora. Starting as a hobby the photographs were given as gifts to friends and neighbors as calendars and note cards. With the encouragement of a good friend, Jan has just recently signed, framed and displayed some of her best work at the Lazy Bowen Hideaway. All of Jan’s Bowen Island photography is available for sale. With all of Jan’s relatives being Canadian and living in the Vancouver area Jan’s frequent visits to her Bowen Island home makes staying in touch with family easy. The goal in the near future is to spend equal time between the sunny Southwest and the temperate rain forest of Bowen Island. This would be the best of both worlds. UPDATE AS OF FEBRUARY 2013 ~ I am proud to say that I am now a dual citizen, US and Canadian, retroactive back to my date of birth in 1955.
